How It Works
Simple File Sharing uses WebRTC (Web Real-Time Communication) to create direct peer-to-peer connections between browsers. When you share a file, it travels directly from your device to the recipient's device — no intermediate server stores your data at any point during the transfer.
Privacy & Security
- No uploads — Your files never leave your device until someone specifically downloads them.
- Direct transfer — Data flows peer-to-peer via encrypted WebRTC data channels.
- No storage — Nothing is stored on any server. When you close the page, your shared files are no longer accessible.
- Bandwidth on-demand — You only use bandwidth when another peer downloads your file.
Use Cases
- Sharing files between your own devices without cloud storage
- Sending documents to someone on the same network
- Quick file transfers without signing up for any service
- Sharing files in environments where cloud upload is restricted
